Your Denver adventure starts at the front door.

Outdoor Adventures & Nature
The Front Range is your backyard. Lace up your hiking boots and hit the trails at North Table Mountain in Golden, a moderate loop with panoramic views of the Rockies that'll make you forget you're minutes from a city. Red Rocks Park (the trails, not just the amphitheatre) offers sandstone formations and mule deer sightings on a quiet Tuesday morning. Closer to home, Standley Lake in Westminster has kayaking, paddleboarding, and a shoreline trail that catches golden hour like nowhere else. For families who prefer pavement, the Clear Creek Trail connects Golden to downtown Denver on a paved bike path that follows the creek the whole way.

Family-Friendly Activities
Traveling with kids? We get it, and we built our homes with families in mind. Our backyards are made for running around, and the neighborhoods around Westminster and Wheat Ridge are full of green space, playgrounds, and the kind of casual spots where nobody blinks at a toddler throwing Cheerios.
Local favorites: Hyland Hills Water World (summer), Boondocks Fun Center, Butterfly Pavilion (yes, you can hold a tarantula), and the weekly Westminster farmers' market. For a mellow afternoon, pack sandwiches and head to Crown Hill Park. The lake trail is stroller-friendly and the geese put on a show.
Back at the house, fire up the grill, set up a movie night in the living room, and let the kids crash while you enjoy the quiet of a real neighborhood. That's the whole point.

Golden & Boulder Day Trips
Set aside a full day for Golden. It earns it. Start with coffee at Windy Saddle Café, walk the shops on Washington Avenue, then follow Clear Creek to the point where the canyon opens up and the rock climbers appear overhead. If you're feeling ambitious, drive up Lookout Mountain for the Buffalo Bill Museum and a view that stretches to Kansas on a clear day. Boulder is 35 minutes north and worth every one of them. Pearl Street Mall is the main draw: four blocks of independent bookstores, ice cream shops, and buskers who are genuinely talented. Grab lunch at The Kitchen or Foolish Craig's, then drive up Flagstaff Mountain before heading home.
